Most faceting machines have a mast which positions the stone holder (handpiece). It also has acurate angles to obtain maximum brilliance from a stone you need to cut and polish at the optimum angle. Along with the acurate angles, the Raytech-Shaw Faceting Machine also has a patented indexing system. With ordinary machines, each indexing operation has the possibility of error.
